Tver State Medical University is recognized, in accordance to law, by the Medical and Dental Councils of India i.e. after graduating from this University, candidates are eligible to work in any government or private hospital in India. There are currently about 800 Indian students studying at the University, 250 of them are girls, 60 doctors (PG students). Every year about 180 Indian students get degrees from the University. Indian doctors who passed out from the Tver State Medical University are successfully working in government and private hospitals around the whole world.

Right to register and the Privilege to practice in India as per MCI Act 1956

According to the Section 13(3) of the Medical Council of India Act, 1956, the medical qualifications granted by the medical institutions outside India, which are included in Part II of the Third Schedule are recognized medical qualification under Section 2(h) meaning, thereby that anyone who obtains a medical degree from the recognized institution and completes the requisite internship is entitled for registration with the Medical Council of India with the consequent right for medical practice in India in accordance with Section 27 of the Medical Council of India Act, 1956.

Minimum academic requirements

As per rules of the Medical Council of India the minimum qualifications for Indian students for admission in Russian Medical Universities which are recognized by the Medical Council of India is 10+2 pass with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It is 40% in case of SC/ST.The minimum age of the student should be 17 years.

MBBS students may please be advised that they need to have an eligibility certificate prior to leaving for Russia, so as to enable them to appear for the screening test.

Duration of study: —

  1. Undergraduate Medical course in English Medium is 5.8 years(Degree MD(PHYSICIAN))
  2. Undergraduate Medical course in Russian Medium is 6.6 years(Degree MD(PHYSICIAN))
    (5.8 years +8 months language course)
  3. Post graduate Medical course is 2 years (PG Diploma)
  4. Language course for post graduate course is 3  to 6 months (Depends on department).
  5. Language course for Russian medium — 8 to 10 months.

Expenses in India

Rus education will charge the following expenses.

The payment includes:

  1. Admission letter.
  2. Visa support letter
  3. Compulsory check-up including AIDS test.
  4. Compulsory overseas medical insurance
  5. Visa fee
  6. Air ticket fee New Delhi — Moscow
  7. Transfer the student from Moscow to the concerning city.

Cost of living

The cost of living in Russia for a student varies from city to city. The average cost as it has been observed by Rus education in Tver is 100—150 US dollars per month, but this may vary depending on the lifestyle of an individual.
